Jeetu Lakhotia (Club President), Mahesh Nihalani (New Channels Chair), Viji Bettadapura (member) and her husband Satya, visited West Valley Community Services in Cupertino on May 6, 2021. They were there to present the check from our club that would help support WVCS' Back to School program. They were met by Josh Selo, Executive Director and Kohinoor Chakravarty, Director of Development and Communications. The Back to School program provides school-aged children a backpack full of supplies and new clothes for the school year.

They were also given a tour of their facility. Jeetu said, "We toured the newly opened Food Pantry that provides a wide selection of food to families facing a hunger crisis. The Pantry is setup like a Whole Foods or Safeway style grocery store. Their clients visit the pantry weekly, selecting from a variety of healthy and delicious foods donated by local partners, including Second Harvest Food Bank, Whole Foods, Safeway, Trader Joe's, Marina Foods, Sprouts, Target, Creekside Farmers' Market, and other local vendors. We also saw the mobile food pantry service that operates at various locations in San Jose, Cupertino, Los Gatos and Saratoga once a week. The plan is to bring food closer to the clients that cannot be at the food pantry service due to lack of transportation or for any other reasons."
